Wifebeater
This is the first in a series of three lithographs that Fernando and I worked on for the “Drink” series. It depicts an alcoholic drinking a very famous brand of lager that amongst drinkers is nicknamed “wifebeater” supposedly for it's ability to provoke aggression.
I have known beaten women in the past, and the aspect I found fascinating in wife beaters was their almost immediate remorse after the red mist; asking their victims for forgiveness. And even more astounding is the victim's frequent forgiveness.
The victim's legs aren't as gruesome as I'd intended;the impossible angle of her right ankle and the contusion on her left shin don't show up well.

Whisky you're the devil
This is a portrait of my uncle John who died a fortnight after this picture was taken. He drank more than a bottle of whisky a day, and since early years I've always associated him with whisky. The figure behind him is taken from Velasquez's los Borrachos.

The British Queen
This lithograph is a collaboration between myself and Fernando Feijoo. He gave me the drafting film, I drew my part and then he finished the design off.
